Haramara, Mexico with Eric Monkhouse

PLAY, REST, RELAX, REJUVENATE
and then PLAY some more...
The essence of yoga, for Eric, is to unravel the anxiety in our body/mind and to bow down humbly while remembering the Source. Haramara is a stunning and serene retreat to allow this unfolding. Sink back into the warm waters of your body, while sunbathing by the private pool, playing on the beach, learning to surf, or disappearing into the nearby jungles. Eric brings his harmonium and introduces aspects of Bhakti yoga - opening our hearts and vocal cords with devotion and surrender. Each day enjoy two 2 hour vinyasa flow classes - a playfully, dynamic one in the morning and a refreshingly, restorative one in the evening

Eric Monkhouse
As an avid English surfer living in London, Eric developed a way to connect and celebrate the "motion of the ocean" in his own body. He now lives in Marin and his guidance as a vinyasa flow teacher includes; creative spontaneous movements, rhythmic breath work, deep self-massage and resonating vocal sound waves to cultivate an embodied sense of freedom. Eric is an advanced Thai massage therapist and will introduce simple massage skills to enhance the healing power of touch. As an international DJ and music buyer/ reviewer for the Yoga Studio, he uses playlists that always reflect and enhance the "bhav" or mood of the class. Between the two 2 hour classes a day, there will be an opportunity to learn how to surf in the warm inviting waters of the Pacific ocean. Eric has been trained and inspired by notable western yoga teachers; Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste and John Scott.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eric's teaching is playfully unique and has true potency. I value his deep intuitive sense and mastery of both traditional asana as well as individual creative expression. After a class with Eric, I feel energized, yet deeply relaxed. His repertoire appears boundless and each class holds both a familiarity as well as surprises that are totally enchanting. He is a bright being whose energy is radiant and magnetic. I cannot recommend Eric highly enough. A retreat with him will be an awesome continuum of his peerless artistry and an opportunity to delve much deeper into the practice.
